The first step in the process of creating your web site is for us to discuss what your expectations are as well as what we can provide. A part of this discussion will involve us asking you several questions to become familiar with your business and needs. A lot of these questions are listed in our questionnaire. If at all possible download a copy of the questionnaire so you can have an idea of what we will need to know. This will also provide you an opportunity to prepare your answers which will save time in the process.
After our initial discussion we will review the information you provided to us and we will provide you with a time frame estimate of your project (for example: 2 weeks to develop your site) as well as cost estimate. This time frame is for developmental purposes only, i.e., design, site architecture and coding. You will have a functional, working web site at the end of this development time. What's done after the development time is what we term maintenance of the site (correcting typos, changing the verbage of a paragraph, updating new photos, new content, adding new sections, etc).
The developmental hours is the time it should take to complete your project. We work on a "code-freeze" basis, meaning you submit your core content (text, verbage, photos, etc.) ONCE. We design/develop the site around your content and any edits to that content are done OUTSIDE your developmental time estimate at an additional charge.
The design process is rather simple: We will provide you with a static "home page" sample (graphics only, no functionality) that illustrates the basic design and theme. This is then approved or tweaked per your desires. Once it has been finalized and approved - and we have formal design signoff - production begins. And naturally, any changes to the signed-off design during production will be billed and most likely, exceed our original quote.
All development work will be done on our server, which you will have web access to. We'll take you step-by-step and keep you updated as to what is happening and what will happen to your site.
